The project will aid in remediating a longstanding water drainage problem impacting multiple properties and adjacent land. Without intervention, flooding is expected to worsen. A water management system—designed to the 100-year flood standard, four times greater than the County’s 25-year flood coverage requirement —will be installed at no cost to residents or the County.

The project will create opportunities for new jobs and increase commercial tax revenue in the County where 3% of the County’s acreage is zoned commercial and/or industrial and generates 33% of the County’s total tax revenue as per the most recent data.

The project will incorporate low-impact design measures such as an expanded buffer zone double the County’s requirement, low-density site lighting, gated emergency-only access to residential roads, and “No Truck Access” signage.
